The Maldives National University (MNU) held an Investiture Ceremony today to officially appoint Dr. Aishath Sanoora as the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences and Dr. Aminath Riyaz as the Dean of the Faculty of Arts. The ceremony marked an important milestone for the University, underscoring its continued dedication to advancing higher education, fostering academic excellence, and strengthening national capacity across essential health and humanities sectors.
In her remarks, Dean Dr. Aishath Sanoora outlined her vision for advancing the Faculty of Health Sciences over her tenure. “Our vision for the next four years is centered on strengthening the postgraduate education system by introducing new programs in areas of national priority. Furthermore, we aim to familiarize students with the latest medical technologies through comprehensive curriculum research and regulatory reviews,” stated Dean Dr. Sanoora.
Highlighting the strategic direction for the Faculty of Arts, Dean Dr. Aminath Riyaz emphasized the broader societal impact of academic learning. “My aspiration is for our academic efforts to transcend the confines of the classroom and deliver meaningful benefits to the wider community,” said Dean Dr. Riyaz. “I envision our students not only receiving a high-quality education but also becoming active contributors to society, graduating with practical, hands-on experience. Furthermore, it is essential that they demonstrate tangible results through the production of scholarly research articles and academic publications.”
