Introduction to the MNU Strategic Plan 2026–2030

The MNU Strategic Plan 2026–2030: Priorities for Excellence outlines the University’s roadmap for the next five years, strengthening our commitment to quality education, research, innovation, student empowerment, national development and other key institutional priorities. Built on the core philosophy of “iman and ilm”, the Strategic Plan reflects extensive consultation with students, staff, and key stakeholders across the University.

The Strategic Plan sets out ten strategic goals focused on elevating academic excellence, advancing research and innovation, enhancing the Maldivian identity, empowering people, building a sustainable and resilient institution, strengthening governance and leadership, expanding societal engagement, fostering a conducive work and learning environment, and enhancing student-centred excellence. It also expands MNU’s national, regional, and international engagement through stronger collaboration and global partnerships.

Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Strategic Plan integrates sustainability principles across teaching, research, operations, and community engagement, ensuring that MNU contributes meaningfully to national priorities and global development targets.

The MNU Strategic Plan 2026–2030 represents our collective vision to build a future-ready, resilient, and leading university that serves the Maldives with integrity, excellence, and purpose.
