The Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) featured an article titled “What are the pathways for advancing in the field of Islamic psychology?” in the July 2025 edition of the FHS newsletter, Heyhan.
Written by Ibrahim Ismail, the article explored opportunities available to students in the Maldives who are interested in pursuing further education and professional development in Islamic psychology.
The article outlined and discussed various pathways for advancing knowledge in the field, including the opportunities and limitations associated with online study and pursuing higher education at universities abroad. By presenting these options, the article provided students with information that can support informed consideration of their future academic and professional pathways.
The newsletter contribution also highlighted the importance of exploring available educational opportunities in a developing field such as Islamic psychology. For Maldivian students, access to information about local, online and international study options can support academic planning and encourage continued learning and professional development.
Through Heyhan, FHS continues to provide a platform for sharing academic knowledge and information relevant to students and the wider community. The article contributed to raising awareness of educational pathways in Islamic psychology while supporting broader knowledge exchange in an emerging area of psychological study and practice.
The initiative contributed to SDG 4 (Quality Education) by supporting access to information on further education and professional development, SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through the promotion of local and international educational pathways, and SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) through the development of knowledge relevant to psychological wellbeing and mental health.
