"Fahi Sihhath" Health Fair Launched to Commemorate World Health Day

25th April 2025

The Maldives National University (MNU), in collaboration with UNICEF and the World Health Organization (WHO), organised the Fahi Sihhath Health Fair to commemorate World Health Day 2025 under the theme “Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures.” The event was graced by Her Excellency Sajidha Mohamed, First Lady of the Maldives, and brought together healthcare professionals, government agencies, non-governmental organisations and youth volunteers to promote public health awareness.

The health fair featured more than 15 interactive stalls offering free health screenings and information on nutrition, self-care, physical fitness and disease prevention. Participating organisations and departments from MNU contributed to raising awareness of maternal and newborn health, healthy lifestyles and the prevention of non-communicable diseases.

Through the Fahi Sihhath initiative, MNU continues to support efforts to build a healthier society by encouraging public engagement, health education and informed lifestyle choices. The initiative also highlights the importance of collaboration in improving community well-being and promoting preventive healthcare across the Maldives.
