The MNUSU office is equipped with the latest computer facilities and provides a dedicated space where our student union organizes various events. Geospatial Studio

Our GIS lab offers high‑spec PCs, QGIS/ArcGIS software, GPS units, and remote‑sensing datasets. Students create maps, run spatial analyses, and develop real‑world skills for research and certification. The lab was established with ERASMUS+ funding through the UN4DRR project.

Welding Workshop

Engineering Design & Innovation Lab features industry‑standard tools—AutoCAD, Revit, STAAD.Pro, Primavera, and CIRCly—so students can design, analyze, and manage projects with confidence. Training starts with hand drafting and moves to digital workflows, building strong visualization and communication skills. The lab’s resources support research, innovation, and real‑world problem‑solving for today’s construction industry.

Physics Lab

A physics lab is a dynamic space where scientific principles come to life through hands-on experiments. It tests concepts like force, energy, and motion in real-world conditions, helping students and researchers explore the fundamental laws of the universe. From subatomic particles to waves and electricity, it sparks curiosity and drives innovation, leading to new discoveries and technological advancements.

Science Lab

This lab focuses on interdisciplinary experiments that integrate concepts from physics, chemistry, biology, marine science and environmental science. It complements the specialized Physics, Chemistry, Biology, marine science and environmental science Labs by providing a platform to explore broader scientific principles and their real-world applications.

Engine Repair Workshop

The Engine repair workshop at FEST, KC has a wide range and generations of engines. V6 onboard engine from 1960’s is the oldest of them all. Students are allowed to dismantle and assemble different types of engines and workshop is equipped with 5 ton crane for moving the heavy engines around the space. Yamaha outboard engines are also available for the students to work. It’s a well ventilated workshop with adequate flood lights for students to work even during the night. In addition to this two Yanmar Y4U60 engines were provided by MTCC to FEST for students to get hands on training.

Biology Lab

The Biology Laboratory (Bio Lab) at The Maldives National University (MNU) is to support both undergraduate and postgraduate programs in biological sciences. With a focus on fostering hands-on learning, the lab provides students with access to essential resources and expertise across a wide range of biological disciplines, including microbiology, molecular biology, environmental biology, and general physiology. The is equipped with microscopes, spectrophotometers, autoclaves, centrifuges, and incubators to support diverse biological experiments.

Chemistry Lab

Our chemistry lab is a specialized space equipped for conducting chemistry experiments, research, and learning related activities. It is designed to provide a controlled environment for safely handling chemicals, performing reactions, and observing chemical processes. Workstations with adequate space are designed to carry out experiments, equipped with sinks, vacuum lines and power lines. Fumes hoods are installed to carry out special experiments and safely ventilate harmful fumes generated during those reactions. The laboratory is also equipped with various tools that are used for measuring, mixing, and observing chemical reactions. Safety equipment, including safety showers, first aid kits, eyewashes, fire extinguishers, safety goggles and lab coats are also available to protect people working in the lab.

Multimedia Lab

The multimedia lab is equipped with resources needed for various multimedia subjects, including video editing software, graphic design tools, audio production equipment, and advanced computing systems. This flexibility allows the lab to support a wide range of multimedia activities, from digital content creation to post-production editing and animation. Students can engage in hands-on projects that enhance their skills in multimedia production. This will pave the way for industry certifications and prepare them for senior positions in creative and technical fields.

Architecture Studio

Our Architectural Studios are dedicated spaces assigned to student batches which are dynamic and collaborative learning environments where students engage in the creative process of designing buildings and spaces. It serves as the core of architectural education, combining theoretical knowledge with practical application. Students work on design projects, often addressing real-world challenges, under the guidance of experienced faculty. The studio fosters critical thinking, innovation, and problem-solving skills while encouraging peer interaction and feedback. the studio becomes a space for exploration, experimentation, and the development of a unique design identity.
