Accommodation - Dhanaal

Living on campus in a Dhanaal is an experience unlike any other.

Your home away from home is where you’ll meet students from all over the nation and form lifelong friendships in a supportive community.

Living in a Dhanaal you become part of the Student family, with 24/7 security, and a passionate team dedicated to making you feel safe and at home.

The university has a total number of 4 Dhanaals. These are Dhonnakaleyfaanu Dhanaal in G.dh Thinadhoo, Edhurukaleygefaanu Dhanaal in H.dh Kulhudhufushi, Dhonbeyyaa Dhanaal in S. Hithadhoo, and Majudhidheen Dhanaal in Male’. These Dhanaals have a sum total of 215 beds.

Who is eligible for Dhanaal?

For accommodation at Dhanaals, priority will be given to those students who do not permanently live on the island where Dhanaal residency is sought. The studying mode must be face to face and enrolled on a full-time course

Priority will be given to the students enrolled in full-time courses. 50% of the bed space will be given to the new enrollments for the semester. If shortlisted students exceed the number of beds available, lots will be drawn. The remaining 50% will be for the continuing full-time students in the 2nd semester. If shortlisted students exceed the number of beds available, lots will be drawn. For any remaining vacancy, students in others years will be given a chance and if shortlisted students exceed the number of beds available, lots will be drawn.

What is the Dhanaal fee?

Dhanaal fees are affordable and the monthly rent is inclusive of electricity, water and gas bills . The monthly fees for the Dhanaals are as follows:

Majudhidheen Dhanaal:  Single room 2000/- Twin room 1000/-per person

Dhonbeyya Dhanaal:  Single room 1200/-

Edhurukaleygefaanu Dhanaal:  Single room 1200/- Twin room 600/-per person

Dhannakaleygefaanu Dhanaal:  Single room 1200/-

How to apply?

An announcement will be made at the beginning of each semester when applications are open. Fill out the application form (available in downloads or from the specific “dhanaal” page you want to stay at) and send in with a passport size photo. Please make sure all the information are filled out correctly as we have the authority to reject any incomplete forms.

Residency at Dhanaals

The shortest period of residency at the Dhanaal is 1 term. A term is defined as the orientation week, the 15 weeks of teaching and 2 weeks of the Exam period.

All students must vacate the Dhanaal accommodation at the end of the Academic Year during the check-out period
