As part of the EduTech Webinar Series (Series 6) under the EduTech Symposium, a session titled “Understanding AI: What is AI, Its Capabilities, and Its Importance” (އޭއައި ދެނެގަތުން: އޭއައި އަކީ ކޮބައިކަމާއި، އޭގެ ޤާބިލުކަން ހުރި މިންވަރާއި، އަދި އޭގެ މުހިންމުކަން ) was held on 23 December 2024 to highlight the growing role of artificial intelligence in transforming education.
The webinar featured Mohamed Jailam, CEO of Javaabu Pvt Ltd and co-founder of DhivehiGPT, as the panelist, and was moderated by Ibrahim Adam, Lecturer and Instructional Designer at the Centre for Educational Technology and Excellence (CETE).
The session provided participants with an opportunity to explore the fundamentals of AI, understand its capabilities and future outlook, and discuss best practices for integrating AI tools into teaching and learning.
The webinar, which was free and open to the public, formed an integral part of the pre-event activities leading up to the EduTech Symposium 2025, further strengthening the event’s focus on innovation, digital transformation, and advancing technology-enabled education in the Maldives.
