As part of the EduTech Symposium 2025, organised by the Centre for Educational Technology and Excellence (CETE), The Maldives National University (MNU), a dedicated webinar series was conducted to explore emerging technologies, innovative pedagogies, and the changing landscape of education.
The webinar series brought together educators, researchers, instructional designers, and technology specialists to share knowledge and practical insights on the use of technology to enhance teaching and learning. Conducted between November 2024 and February 2025, the series featured nine webinars covering a diverse range of topics related to digital education and educational technology.
The sessions addressed key themes including Augmented Reality (AR) in education and pedagogical practices; adaptive, personalised and technology-enabled learning; technology-supported language learning; multimodal assessment; robotics in education; artificial intelligence and its applications; digital-age pedagogy; innovative course design; and the evolving role of AI in education.
The webinar series featured contributions from experts including Ms. Roza Ibrahim, Dr. Aminath Waseela, Dr. Ali Shameem, Dr. Fathimath Nasiha Abdul Muhaimin, Dr. Ramiz Ali, Dr. Ali Fawaz Shareef, Mr. Mohamed Jailam, Dr. Aminath Shafiya Adam, Prof. Igor Balaban, and Dr. Muhammad Helmi Norman. The sessions provided participants with opportunities to engage with current developments in educational technology and consider their practical applications in teaching and learning.
Across the sessions with recorded attendance figures, the webinars attracted at least 197 participants, demonstrating strong interest in emerging technologies and innovative approaches to education.
The webinar series complemented the broader EduTech Symposium 2025, the first edition of this international initiative, which was held at The Maldives National University on 17–18 September 2025. The symposium brought together local and international educators, researchers, industry experts, and technology practitioners to explore the future of technology-enabled education through expert sessions, research presentations, hands-on workshops, EduTech Talks and discussion forums.
Through the webinar series and the main symposium, CETE continues to provide platforms for knowledge exchange, professional development, innovation, and collaboration in educational technology, supporting MNU’s commitment to advancing technology-enabled teaching and learning at both national and international levels.
