The “EduTech Symposium 2025,” organized by the Centre for Educational Technology and Excellence at the Maldives National University. The theme of this years symposium is “Leveraging Education through the Advancement of Technology.”
Taking place from the 17th to the 18th of this month at the Maldives National University’s administrative centre, the symposium aims to identify the best ways to conduct various learning and teaching activities with the help of technology, discuss these methods, and provide a platform for sharing innovative ideas among participants.
More than 85 participants, including experts and educators in educational technology from both the Maldives and abroad, are taking part in this symposium. Additionally, the symposium will showcase a total of 7 projects from schools in 6 different islands of the Maldives, demonstrating the technological skills and creativity of their students.
The objective of this symposium is to explore and discuss the most effective ways to utilize technology in learning and teaching activities, and to facilitate the exchange of innovative ideas among participants.
The main activities of this symposium include keynote speeches by international experts, demonstrations of innovative techniques to enhance teaching quality using modern technology, workshops on topics such as the use of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics in learning and teaching, and engaging panel discussions with experts in the field.
With participation from the UNICEF office in the Maldives, the symposium will also feature the “EduTech Excellence Award.” This award will recognize the top three presentations in two categories, honouring both individual submissions and those representing educational institutions separately.
The Maldives National University aims to build on the experience of this year’s symposium to organize a second, higher-quality symposium in the future, incorporating additional new elements.
