The Centre for Educational Technology and Excellence (CETE) successfully conducted two sessions of the training “Prompt Like a Pro: Best Practices for Effective AI Prompting” in a hybrid format. The sessions were facilitated by Instructional Designer Ibrahim Adam and attracted a total of 44 participants.
The training focused on practical strategies for crafting effective prompts when using AI tools such as ChatGPT and Copilot. Participants explored techniques for structuring prompts, refining AI-generated outputs, and applying prompt engineering methods to enhance productivity, creativity, and problem-solving in academic and professional settings.
Through real-world examples and hands-on guidance, participants learned how to move beyond basic AI interactions and develop advanced prompting skills that improve the quality, relevance, and accuracy of AI-generated responses.
The sessions highlighted the growing importance of AI literacy in higher education and professional practice. Participants gained an understanding of prompt engineering fundamentals, explored proven frameworks and templates for creating effective prompts, and learned practical techniques for writing clear and purposeful instructions for AI tools.
By offering this training, CETE continues its commitment to strengthening digital competencies among staff and supporting the effective and responsible integration of emerging technologies into teaching, learning, research, and professional practice.
