As part of Thinadhoo School’s annual Uniform Bodies Camp, MNU School of Nursing lecturer Aishath Sharuwath Ilyas conducted basic first aid sessions for students on 23 and 24 August 2026.

The sessions introduced students to essential first aid skills, including how to properly clean and dress a wound, the correct use of a triangular bandage, how to assist someone who has fainted and place them in the recovery position, and how to respond appropriately to a nosebleed.

Through practical demonstrations and hands-on activities, students developed useful first aid knowledge and gained confidence in responding safely to common minor emergencies. The sessions helped students understand the importance of calm action, cleanliness, correct procedures, and seeking help when needed.

The activity promoted student safety, health awareness, emergency preparedness, practical learning, and care for others. It also supported community-based health education by helping young students develop basic life skills that can be useful at school, at home, and in the wider community.
