On 16 October 2025, academic staff participated in the “Ilmee Foavahi” Seminar Series 2025, organised by the Research Development Office and conducted by the Department of Educational Studies.
The seminar focused on the important topic “Sumeyku dhulhaheyokan, dharinge tharubiyyathah kihaa muhimmu kameh?” (How Important is Emotional Well-being in Child Upbringing?). The session explored the relationship between mental health, emotional stability, child development, and effective parenting in contemporary educational settings.
The seminar provided faculty members and researchers with a valuable platform to discuss holistic approaches to nurturing emotional resilience in young learners. Discussions highlighted the importance of recognising children’s emotional needs and creating supportive environments that promote both well-being and effective learning.
The participation of academic staff reflects the Faculty’s commitment to holistic education, learner well-being, and evidence-informed educational practices.
The initiative supports Quality Education by promoting learner-centred and holistic approaches to education. It contributes to Good Health and Well-being by raising awareness of children’s emotional and mental well-being, while supporting Partnerships for the Goals through professional dialogue, knowledge sharing, and collaboration among educators and researchers.
