The Maldives National University (MNU) provided access to international computer-based examinations through its Pearson VUE Test Centre in 2024, enabling 92 candidates to undertake examinations in fields including information technology, healthcare and business. The initiative expanded opportunities for individuals in the Maldives to pursue globally recognised professional certifications through a local testing facility.

The Pearson VUE Test Centre provides candidates with access to examinations for professional qualifications and certifications recognised by organisations worldwide. By offering these services locally, MNU helps reduce the geographical and logistical barriers associated with travelling overseas to sit examinations, making international certification pathways more accessible to local and international candidates.

Access to professional certifications enables individuals to strengthen their knowledge, demonstrate industry-relevant competencies and pursue further career opportunities.
