The College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (CFOS) at the Maldives National University took part in Vara Expo 2025, the nation’s largest skills, education, and career exhibition, held at Central Park in Hulhumalé. The event, organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Labor and Skills Development, drew over 15,000 visitors and featured 146 exhibitors across career, education, and skills zones.
CFOS joined MNU’s broader presence at the expo, which showcased the university’s academic programs, research initiatives, and career pathways. Visitors to the CFOS stalls learned about the college’s diverse offerings in marine science, fisheries, and environmental management, as well as the growing demand for skilled professionals in ocean-related fields. Staff and students were on hand to provide guidance on qualifications, practical training opportunities, and the dynamic learning environment that defines CFOS. By bringing marine science education directly to the public, CFOS reinforced its commitment to ocean literacy and community engagement, inspiring the next generation of Maldivian marine professionals to contribute to the sustainable management of the nation’s marine resources.
