The Maldives National University > CETE News & Events > EduTech Symposium 2025-Showcase: Meemu Atoll School Students Showcase Micro Flood Alarm System

Students from Meemu Atoll School showcased their innovative Flood Alarm System project at the MNU EduTech Symposium 2025, demonstrating how coding and technology can be used to explore practical solutions to real-world challenges.
Developed using Micro technology, the project highlighted the students’ application of coding and hands-on STEM learning to design a system aimed at detecting potential flooding and providing an alert. The initiative demonstrated how technology-based learning can encourage students to think creatively, develop problem-solving skills and explore solutions relevant to their communities.
The students’ participation highlighted the importance of introducing practical, technology-enhanced learning experiences at school level, enabling learners to move beyond theoretical knowledge and apply their skills to challenges they may encounter in everyday life.
The symposium also recognised the collaborative efforts that support such innovations, including the contributions of teachers, parents, the Island Council, The Maldives National University (MNU) and the National Institute of Education (NIE).
The MNU EduTech Symposium 2025 celebrates the students and educators of Meemu Atoll School for showcasing their work and contributing to the exchange of innovative ideas in technology-enhanced education.
