Semester 5 Students Build Practical Skills in Peripheral Health Facilities

27 November 2025

Semester 5 Primary Health Care students from the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS), The Maldives National University (MNU), undertook field visits to peripheral health facilities from 2 to 27 November 2025.

The field experience helped students connect theory with service delivery and practise teamwork, communication, leadership and health promotion skills.

Experience in local facilities helps students understand how health promotion and patient care are organised across different settings.

The visits relate to SDG 4 (Quality Education) through field learning, SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) through preparation for primary care, and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) through exposure to peripheral health services.
