Semester 4 Students Continue Field Learning in Peripheral Health Facilities

28 November 2025

Semester 4 Primary Health Care students from the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS), The Maldives National University (MNU), undertook field visits to peripheral health facilities from 1 to 28 November 2025. These visits offered practical exposure to healthcare delivery outside the classroom.

The experience provided opportunities to develop communication, teamwork, problem solving and health promotion skills in service settings.

Practice-based education complements classroom teaching and prepares students to work with multidisciplinary teams in local healthcare settings.

The field visit connects SDG 4 (Quality Education) with hands-on training and SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) with primary care preparation. Learning in peripheral facilities also relates to SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) through attention to healthcare outside central settings.
