On 22 May 2025, Lecturers from the Faculty of Education (FE), Maldives National University (MNU), actively participated in the “Fahi MNU” outreach programme conducted across K. Atoll, supporting efforts to expand access to higher education information and opportunities within local island communities.
As part of the outreach programme, faculty members engaged directly with prospective students, secondary school graduates, and parents, providing information on the wide range of degree, diploma, and certificate programmes offered by MNU.
The sessions provided prospective learners and their families with guidance on academic pathways, admission requirements, programme options, and potential career opportunities, enabling them to make informed decisions about their future education and professional development.
The initiative strengthened MNU’s engagement with communities across the atoll and promoted accessible, inclusive, and equitable access to higher education. By bringing relevant information closer to learners and families within their communities, the programme helped reduce barriers to accessing educational opportunities and encouraged greater participation in further education and lifelong learning.
The participation of the Faculty of Education reflects the University’s commitment to quality education, inclusive learning opportunities, community engagement, and lifelong learning. It also highlights the importance of collaboration between higher education institutions and local communities in empowering learners to pursue their educational and professional aspirations.
