On 7th August 2025, a Professional Development (PD) Programme was conducted for staff of the Faculty of Education (FE) at K. Thulusdhoo, focusing on “Using AI in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education” and “Digital Education.” The programme was attended by FE academic staff and three administrative staff members.

The sessions were facilitated by Professor Noor Khamimi from the University of Science Islam Malaysia, who guided participants through emerging approaches to integrating artificial intelligence, digital tools, and innovative technologies into higher education.

The programme aimed to strengthen staff capacity in digital competencies and technology-enhanced teaching and learning, while encouraging the effective use of emerging technologies to support teaching practices and improve learning experiences.

The sessions also highlighted the importance of digital innovation, technological readiness, and continuous professional development in responding to the evolving needs of higher education. Participants explored practical approaches to incorporating digital tools and AI into academic and administrative contexts.

The initiative further promoted knowledge sharing and professional collaboration among academic and administrative staff, while strengthening the Faculty of Education’s capacity to embrace digital transformation and innovative approaches to higher education.
