The Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Studies (FHTS) participated in the Dhaalan National Skills and Career Expo 2024, organised by the Ministry of Higher Education, Labour and Skills Development on 15 and 16 November 2024. The expo provided a platform for students, job seekers, and the wider community to explore education, skills development, and career opportunities.

Through its participation, FHTS engaged with prospective students and other visitors, sharing information about study opportunities in hospitality and tourism and the different pathways available within the sector. Participants were also introduced to relevant skills and potential employment opportunities in the hospitality and tourism industry.

The expo provided an opportunity for FHTS to support education and learning beyond the university by making information on hospitality and tourism education, skills development, and career pathways accessible to the wider community. Through this community engagement, participants were able to better understand their study options and make informed decisions about their future education and careers.

Participation in Dhaalan also strengthened collaboration and knowledge sharing between higher education, government, students, job seekers, and the wider community. By connecting quality education and skills development with the world of work, the expo supported greater community awareness of pathways into education and employment and contributed to local development through improved access to skills and career information.
