MNU Thinadhoo Campus Marks World Heart Day 2026

30 September 2026

MNU Thinadhoo Campus marked World Heart Day on 29 September 2026 through a staff gathering organised as part of an initiative by Dr. Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital to raise awareness about heart health and the importance of protecting personal well-being.

Staff members came together wearing red attire and sharing messages related to heart health, creating a visible and meaningful expression of support for the global message of cardiovascular health awareness. The activity encouraged participants to reflect on the importance of caring for the heart as one of the body’s most vital assets.

The observance promoted awareness of healthy lifestyle choices, preventive health practices, personal responsibility, and early attention to health risks. It also highlighted the value of maintaining healthy daily habits and making informed choices that support long-term physical well-being.

The initiative contributes to SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being by promoting health literacy, prevention of non-communicable diseases, healthy lifestyles, and greater awareness of personal well-being. Activities such as World Heart Day help encourage individuals to take preventive action and recognise the importance of maintaining good health throughout life.

The activity also supports SDG 4: Quality Education through informal health education and awareness, helping staff strengthen their knowledge and understanding of preventive health and healthy lifestyle practices.

By promoting staff wellness and a positive culture of health within the workplace, the initiative contributes to SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, particularly through encouraging a healthy and supportive working environment.

The collaboration with Dr. Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital further supports SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, demonstrating the importance of partnerships between health institutions and educational organisations in promoting community health and well-being.

Through its participation in World Heart Day, MNU Thinadhoo Campus continues to encourage a workplace culture that values health awareness, prevention, personal well-being, and collective responsibility.

MNU Thinadhoo Campus extends sincere appreciation to Dr. Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital for initiating the activity and to all staff members who participated and contributed to making the observance meaningful.
