Posed on 20 September 2026

MNU Thinadhoo Campus joined the observance of World Cleanup Day on 20 September 2026 through a beach cleanup activity organised by the MNU Student Union – Thinadhoo Campus Wing, Neyka.

Students and staff of MNU Thinadhoo Campus participated in the activity alongside Neyka leaders and Scout leaders, working together to help keep the beach and surrounding environment clean.

The activity provided an opportunity for participants to contribute directly to environmental protection while promoting responsible waste management, community participation, and care for shared public spaces. It also encouraged students to recognise the importance of individual and collective responsibility in maintaining a clean and healthy environment.

By bringing together students, staff, student leaders, and members of the wider community, the initiative strengthened teamwork and environmental awareness while demonstrating how simple community actions can contribute to cleaner and more sustainable surroundings.      SDG 3, SDG 4, SDG 11, SDG 12, SDG 13, SDG 14, SDG 17

The activity reflected important themes of environmental stewardship, responsible consumption, protection of coastal environments, community engagement, and sustainable living.

MNU Thinadhoo Campus appreciates Neyka for organising the initiative and extends sincere thanks to the students, campus staff, Neyka leaders, Scout leaders, and everyone who contributed to the successful beach cleanup.
