Participants attended the Australia and New Zealand Association for Health Professions Education Conference, engaging in networking sessions, academic discussions, and capacity-building activities. The study tour also included site visits to healthcare facilities, including rural and remote settings, to gain insight into diverse models of healthcare delivery. In addition, participants collaborated on the development of an 18-month group project focused on Health Professions Education for implementation in the Maldives, incorporating a defined research component.

The event helped to increase the public awareness of the medical laboratory profession and it’s role in health care. It also helped the students to gain experince in public health education and communication. It also fostered stronger connection with the community in promoting health awareness.
