A University Research Grant was awarded to support the research project, “Prevalence of Work-Related Musculoskeletal Disorders (WMSDs) among Health Workers of Addu Equatorial Hospital: Prevalence and Associated Risk Factors (URG-2024-C1-L-AS13).” The study aims to determine the prevalence of work-related musculoskeletal disorders among healthcare workers and identify occupational and individual risk factors associated with these conditions. The findings will provide evidence to inform workplace health and safety interventions and support strategies to improve the wellbeing of healthcare professionals.
The research is expected to generate evidence that supports the development of effective occupational health policies and workplace interventions to reduce the burden of work-related musculoskeletal disorders among healthcare workers. The findings will contribute to improving employee wellbeing, enhancing workplace safety, and informing institutional and national strategies aimed at promoting healthier and more sustainable healthcare work environments.
