MNU Thinadhoo Campus warmly welcomed teachers from Gaafu Alifu Atoll School on 29 June 2024 for a professional development session focused on “Creating Inclusive Classrooms: Implementing Universal Design for Learning (UDL).”
The session was conducted by Shihanath Ibrahim, Senior Lecturer from the Faculty of Education. It focused on helping teachers understand how Universal Design for Learning can be applied to create more inclusive, flexible, and supportive classroom environments. Through the session, teachers explored practical ways to address learner diversity, improve student participation, and design learning experiences that are accessible to students with different abilities, needs, and learning styles.
The activity promoted inclusive education, teacher capacity building, professional learning, equitable access to learning, and improved classroom practice. By strengthening teachers’ understanding of UDL, the session supported the development of classrooms where all students are given better opportunities to participate, learn, and succeed.
MNU Thinadhoo Campus extends sincere appreciation to the teachers of Gaafu Alifu Atoll School for visiting the campus and for providing the opportunity to contribute to teacher professional development within the wider education community.
