
Aminath Risana is a Lecturer at the School of Nursing, Maldives National University. She is committed to advancing nursing education and enhancing patient care through innovative, technology-enabled teaching strategies that foster critical thinking, clinical competence, and professional development among nursing students.
She has over nine years of clinical experience working in critical care settings, including Medica and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH). Her clinical background has strengthened her main professional interest in critical care nursing, which continues to inform her teaching and research practice.
She teaches Nursing Principles and Practices and Pharmacotherapeutics and is actively involved in subject coordination, clinical supervision, and the planning and administration of practical examinations. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, she contributes to the continuous improvement of nursing education programs.
Her research interests include nursing education, simulation-based learning, innovative teaching methodologies, clinical skills development, and the integration of technology to improve teaching, learning, and patient outcomes.
Her work reflects a strong commitment to bridging clinical practice and academic education, with a focus on improving patient care outcomes and strengthening nursing competency development.
