
Jeeza Hassan is a nurse academic and health services professional with over 15 years of progressive experience in clinical practice, healthcare management, and nursing education. She currently serves as a Senior Lecturer at the Maldives National University, School of Nursing, where she contributes to the development of competent nursing professionals in the Maldives.
She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Nursing at Chiang Mai University under the prestigious Chiang Mai University President’s Scholarship. Her doctoral research focuses on missed nursing care, with particular emphasis on its impact on patient safety, quality of care, and nursing workforce dynamics.
Jeeza Hassan holds a Master of Primary Health Care Management from Mahidol University, completed under a full scholarship awarded by the Thailand Government. Her master’s research examined the influence of self-efficacy and collective efficacy on nursing performance in a tertiary care hospital in the Maldives. She also holds a Bachelor of Nursing and a Bachelor of Health Services Management, reflecting her strong interdisciplinary academic background.
Her main areas of teaching include nursing leadership and management, evidence-based nursing, and nursing research. Through her teaching, she promotes critical thinking, analytical skills, and the application of research evidence in clinical practice among undergraduate and postgraduate students.
She has contributed to academic scholarship through a peer-reviewed publication in the Journal of Public Health and Development and presentations at international conferences. Her research interests include nursing performance, quality and safety in healthcare, clinical mentorship, psychological wellbeing of nursing students, and health services management.
In addition to her academic role, she has held several leadership positions in healthcare administration and community development, demonstrating a strong commitment to professional excellence, public service, and women’s empowerment.
