Dhivehi Day Celebrated with Cultural Competitions and Student Performances

MNU Thinadhoo Campus celebrated Dhivehi Day on 20th April, through a vibrant programme initiated by the Faculty of Arts, bringing students together to promote Dhivehi language, culture, and heritage.

A range of engaging competitions were held as part of the celebrations, including Luika Vaadha (local food competition), Bodu Akuru Liyun, Faaru Noos, and a Thaana typing competition. The events received an excellent response, with many students actively participating and showcasing their creativity and skills.

The celebration ceremony also featured a traditional cultural game, “Saari sakey Sakeyla,” which added excitement and a strong cultural touch to the programme. In addition, students from Neyka delivered a cultural dance performance, further highlighting the richness of Maldivian traditions.

The Dhivehi Day programme successfully created a joyful and meaningful platform for students to appreciate and celebrate the national language and culture, while strengthening unity and campus engagement.
