The Maldives National University (MNU) is proud to announce a significant academic milestone with the successful publication of the ICEST 2025 conference proceedings in IEEE Xplore, one of the world’s most prestigious and widely indexed research databases.

This achievement marks a major step forward in strengthening MNU’s research visibility and global academic presence. The publication reflects the university’s continued commitment to advancing research, innovation, and scholarly excellence.

ICEST 2025 stands as a landmark event for MNU, being the first-ever international conference organized by the university in this field with proceedings published in IEEE Xplore. The accomplishment highlights the growing capacity of MNU to host internationally recognized academic platforms and contribute meaningfully to global research discourse.

The conference saw a strong level of participation and scholarly output. A total of 39 papers were submitted to IEEE, all of which were successfully accepted and published in IEEE Xplore. Among these, 5 papers were authored by Faculty of Engineering, Science and Technology (FEST) staff, while 4 papers were student-led, showcasing active collaboration between students and academic staff. In total, 10 papers carried FEST, MNU affiliation, including collaborative research efforts.

In addition, the conference recorded an 11% increase in indexed publications compared to the 2023 conference, demonstrating notable growth in research output. Beyond IEEE Xplore, 6 papers were also published in the Maldives Journal of Engineering and Technology (MJET), further contributing to local academic development.
