MNU’s Bachelor of Nursing students organized a community health promotion event, “Dhulhaheyo Nafsu: Dhoshee Umuraai Sihhathu,”  engaging elderly residents of Kulhudhuffushi City through informative sessions and activities.

As part of our ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability and community engagement, aligned with the Government’s 5 Million Tree Planting Pledge, a tree planting event was successfully held. 

10th October 2025

The Maldives National University currently completing their community posting at KRH, conducted an engaging community outreach focusing on puberty-related health challenges and the importance of good nutrition. The session reached 50 teenage participants.

15th October 2024

As part of our ongoing collaboration with UNICEF, MNU engaged students from the Faculty of Health Sciences in a session focused on UNICEF’s key programmes and advocacy, along with effective communication skills to address myths and misconceptions about vaccination. This initiative supports our commitment to preparing informed and capable future healthcare professionals.

MNU is pleased to support professional development through collaboration. Today, our first aid team conducted a Basic First Aid training session for staff at the Islamic University of Maldives (IUM).

MNU Thinadhoo Campus was pleased to conduct a First Aid professional development session for Aboobakuru School. We are grateful for the positive feedback and remain committed to delivering impactful training that supports school communities.

MNU is proud to have our Senior Lecturer from the School of Nursing, Ms. Salma Hassan, lead a workshop on Professional Development and Clinical Documentation for nurses at Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital. The session provided an engaging and informative platform to strengthen nurses’ skills and knowledge, emphasizing the importance of accurate clinical documentation in delivering high-quality healthcare services.

As part of MNU’s Community Engagement Program in Th. Guraidhoo, our Faculty of Health Sciences facilitated parallel sessions yesterday focused on raising parents’ awareness of children’s developmental milestones and promoting healthy communication strategies. We extend our gratitude to the facilitators for their valuable contribution to this initiative.

This week, MNU’s social work students from FHS had the pleasure of joining MAPD for an evening with children and adults with disabilities and their families. We thank MAPD for giving our students the valuable opportunity to engage with and learn from diverse community members.

The Faculty of Health Sciences’ public health team recently spent an engaging evening with senior citizens at Israhvehinge Naadhee as part of the ‘Dhulhaheyo Israhvehin’ initiative. The session included general health checks and guidance on maintaining an active and healthy lifestyle. A total of 45 participants and 4 staff members took part, and MNU looks forward to future collaborations in community health programs.
