MNU and Maldives Police Service have Signed a MoU to Strengthen Research and Collaboration in National Security

The Maldives National University (MNU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Maldives Police Service to enhance collaboration in research, education, and policy development in the field of national security and strategic studies.

The signing ceremony was attended by Assistant Commissioner of Police Ahmed Abdul Rahman, senior officials of the Maldives Police Service, and Vice Chancellor of MNU and senior staffs of the Maldives National University. The event marks as a significant milestone in advancing the objectives of the University’s Centre for Security and Strategic Studies (CSSS). The Memorandum of Understanding was officially signed by Dr. Aishath Shehenaz Adam, Vice Chancellor of MNU, and Mr. Ahmed Abdul Rahman, Assistant Commissioner of Police.

The agreement aims to strengthen national-level knowledge on security and strategic issues, promote academic research in this critical area, and foster institutional partnerships that contribute to evidence-based policymaking. It also introduces Security Research Fellowships designed to build research capacity among MNU academic staff and officers of the Maldives Police Service.

The partnership underscores the University’s role in developing skilled professionals and advancing national research efforts across key sectors. The collaboration also reflects MNU’s ongoing commitment to supporting national institutions in the broader mission of nation-building.
