MNU officially opens registration for the MNU Marathon 2026. This exciting event is part of MNU’s ongoing commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles, community engagement, and inclusivity through sports.
Following the success of its inaugural event, the MNU Marathon is set to return on Friday, 13th February 2026, in the scenic Central Park area of Hulhumalé. The marathon will feature a range of categories designed to welcome participants of all ages and fitness levels — from professional runners to families and children.
This year’s marathon will be held with added significance and grandeur, with the introduction of a special competitive category for participants aged 65 and above — a testament to MNU’s dedication to fostering active and inclusive participation across generations.
The race schedule will begin with the 42.2 km full marathon at 2:00 AM, followed by the 21 km half marathon at 4:00 AM, the 10 km race at 5:30 AM, and the 5 km race at 6:00 AM. The popular Kids Dash, a 2-kilometer run for children aged 4 to 12 years, will begin at 7:00 AM. Parents are also welcome to join their children in the Kids Dash.
All participants who complete their race will receive a finisher’s medal, while the top three male and female runners in each category will be awarded cash prizes. The highest prizes in each race category will be presented to the best male and female runners aged 65 and above, highlighting MNU’s emphasis on lifelong health and vitality.
Cash Prizes:
- Marathon: MVR 10,000 (Top 3 Male & Female)
- Half Marathon: MVR 7,500 (Top 3 Male & Female)
- 10K Race: MVR 5,000 (Top 3 Male & Female)
- 5K Race: MVR 3,000 (Top 3 Male & Female)
All races will take place on a 5-kilometer loop approved by relevant authorities, with medical and emergency teams on standby throughout the event to ensure participant safety.

Each participant will receive a race kit, which includes a t-shirt and race bib. The race kit distribution expo will be held on 11th and 12th February 2026, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the MNU A-Block Auditorium.
