MNU has received the report of its second Institutional Audit by the Maldives Qualifications Authority (MQA) in 2026, following an audit covering the period 2021–2023.
MQA is the national authority responsible for regulating and overseeing quality and standards in higher education in the Maldives. Its Institutional Audit process evaluates higher education institutions against established criteria and their own institutional missions, recognising areas of strength and identifying opportunities for further improvement. The process includes institutional self-evaluation, external review, and recommendations to support continuous quality enhancement.
This second audit follows MNU’s first Institutional Audit, completed in 2019, and represents an important stage in the University’s ongoing quality assurance journey. The audit report provides a basis for reviewing institutional practices, reflecting on quality assurance arrangements, and identifying priorities for further development.
MNU will use the report to inform its ongoing quality enhancement efforts, strengthen institutional accountability, and support the continuous improvement of academic quality and institutional effectiveness.
MNU conducted an internal audit in 2025, with the final report completed in 2026 following consideration by the Audit and Risk Committee. The internal audit supports effective governance, risk management, and compliance with institutional policies and procedures, contributing to greater accountability and continuous institutional improvement.
