Semester 5 Primary Health Care students from the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS), The Maldives National University (MNU), completed a five-week placement at the Health Protection Agency between 20 August and 18 September 2025.
With guidance from agency supervisors, students took part in health promotion, disease prevention, outbreak response and community outreach. Exposure to these activities helped them apply primary healthcare principles and understand the operational work of a national public health agency.
The collaboration with HPA provided practical learning opportunities linked to national disease prevention and health protection work.
The supervised placement supports SDG 4 (Quality Education) through field-based learning and SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) through preparation for national health protection and prevention work.
