On 9th March, Civil Engineering and Electrical Engineering students visited the STELCO Head Office and Male’ Powerhouse at Ameenee Magu to gain practical insight into electricity generation, transmission, and distribution. Guided by STELCO experts, students explored power plant operations, maintenance practices, and modern energy technologies while attending orientation sessions on grid stability, load management, renewable energy integration, and workplace safety. An interactive Q&A session provided opportunities to discuss technical concepts and career pathways in the energy sector. The visit also highlighted STELCO’s efforts to expand photovoltaic (PV) power plants across the Maldives and the importance of battery storage in ensuring a reliable renewable energy supply.
