Biography

Registered Nurse and Nurse Midwife since 1990. Practised as a staff nurse and a midwife for five years in the main hospital in the Maldives. Currently a nursing educator with expertise in medical-surgical nursing and critical care nursing, and a strong commitment to advancing nursing education and professional practice. Experienced in teaching various subjects, including Medical and Surgical Nursing, Principles and Practice in Nursing, Law and Ethics for Nurses, Professional Decision Making, Leadership and Management in Nursing, and Evidence-Based Practice to postgraduate and undergraduate nursing students. Skilled in curriculum development and delivery, student mentorship, and integration of evidence-based approaches into nursing education. Passionate about preparing competent, ethical, and reflective nurses capable of delivering high-quality patient care. Actively engaged in academic and regulatory work with interest in nursing workforce development, work- life balance, quality of care, and professional ethics. Possesses strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills, with a commitment to lifelong learning and the advancement of the nursing profession.
