Biography

Aminath Shiuna is a Senior Lecturer at the Maldives National University (MNU), School of Nursing, in Malé, Maldives. She currently serves as the Head of the Department of Clinical Studies, a position she has held since December 2022, after previously serving as Acting Head of the Department. With over two decades of experience in nursing practice and education, she has played a significant role in strengthening nursing education and clinical training in the Maldives.

Shiuna began her career as a Registered Nurse at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital and later served as a Senior Registered Nurse before transitioning into academia. Since joining MNU in 2011, she has progressed through academic roles, including Associate Lecturer, Lecturer, and Senior Lecturer. Her work focuses on nursing education, clinical practice development, and strengthening nursing capacity within the Maldivian health system.

She is actively involved in curriculum development, research, and national health initiatives aimed at improving the quality of nursing practice and healthcare delivery in the Maldives.
