Sh.Usman Yoosuf is a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Shariah and Law at the Maldives National University (MNU), with over 12 years of university teaching experience and more than 30 years of experience in Islamic education. He holds a Master of Arts in Shariah and specializes in Islamic Jurisprudence (Fiqh), Islamic Law, Hadith Studies, Qur’anic Studies, and the Arabic language.
Since joining MNU in 2012, he has taught undergraduate courses in Shariah and Islamic Law, contributed to curriculum development, and supervised students in their academic and research activities. He has also served as a Part-Time Lecturer at the Islamic University of Maldives, Villa College, the Faculty of Islamic Studies at MNU, and the Quranic Centre.
Before entering higher education, Mr. Yoosuf served as a Fiqh Teacher and later as a Supervisor at Al-Madrasathul Arabiyyathul Islamiyyah, where he taught Islamic sciences and supported academic administration.
His academic interests include Shariah and Islamic Law, Islamic Jurisprudence (Fiqh), Hadith Studies, Qur’anic Studies, Arabic Language, curriculum development, student supervision, and Shariah consultation.
