Abdul Rahmaan Yoonus is an Islamic scholar, lecturer, and academic professional specializing in Qira’ath, Shariah, and Islamic Studies. He serves as a Lecturer at the Maldives National University (MNU) within the Faculty of Law and Islamic Studies under the Quran and Sunnah Department. Throughout his career, he has held key educational leadership and teaching roles, including serving as the Deputy Principal, Mushrif Musaaidh, and a Quran and Methodology Teacher at the Centre for Holy Quran.
On 4 September 2024, Abdul Rahman Yoonus received the President’s National Award of Recognition in Quranic Studies. This prestigious award recognized his significant efforts and contributions to promoting Quranic studies among the public.
In addition to his full-time academic responsibilities, he has contributed as a part-time lecturer at both the Islamic University of Maldives (IUM) and the Faculty of Education at MNU. He is also actively involved in curriculum design and evaluation, having authored the reference book “Thajweed Al Muyahsar” and written training modules for various Diploma in Teaching Quran courses.
