Biography

Mohamed Zaid is a Senior Lecturer and Head of the Department of Public Health at the Faculty of Health Sciences, The Maldives National University (MNU). He holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Service Management and a Master of Primary Health Care Management from Mahidol University, Thailand.

With over two decades of experience in health sciences education and healthcare management, Zaid has played a significant role in teaching, curriculum development, research supervision, and quality assurance. His areas of expertise include public health, primary health care, health systems management, health service administration, epidemiology, and health policy. He has led the development and review of several academic programmes and has contributed to national initiatives in public health, workforce development, and professional regulation.

Zaid has extensive experience in designing and delivering professional training programmes for healthcare professionals, government agencies, and industry. His research interests include non-communicable diseases, primary health care, health services research, and public health systems strengthening. He remains actively engaged in research, policy development, and community health initiatives that support the advancement of public health in the Maldives.
