Maumoona Abdulla is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Education, The Maldives National
University, with extensive experience in teacher education, educational leadership,
curriculum development, and academic administration. She holds a Master of Education
from Open University Malaysia and a Bachelor of Teaching and a Bachelor of Education
(Honours) from La Trobe University, Australia.
Throughout her academic career, she has contributed significantly to the preparation of
future educators through teaching, programme coordination, and curriculum leadership.
She has played a key role in the design, development, and review of undergraduate and
postgraduate programmes, ensuring their alignment with national educational priorities and
emerging educational needs.
As a member of the Academic Senate of The Maldives National University, she contributes
to academic governance through policy deliberation, curriculum approval, and quality
assurance initiatives. Her professional contributions extend beyond the University through
leadership and participation in national research projects, curriculum development
initiatives, institutional audits, quality assurance reviews, and professional committees. She
has actively supported national efforts in curriculum implementation, teacher
development, educational quality enhancement, and higher education quality assurance in
the Maldives.
