Mariyam Rasheeda

Biography

Mariyam Rasheeda (RN, RM) is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Nursing, The Maldives National University, with over three decades of experience in nursing education, clinical practice, academic leadership, and higher education administration. She has contributed significantly to the development of nursing education and the nursing profession in the Maldives.
She previously served as Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, providing leadership in academic development, financial management, quality assurance, and institutional planning. She has also served numerous university and faculty committees, including the College Council, Finance Committee, Academic Senate, Higher Degrees Committee, and other academic and management committees, contributing to academic governance, curriculum development, and quality enhancement.
Beyond the university, she is a member of the Maldives Nursing and Midwifery Council, a founding member and former President of the Maldives Nurses Association, and a former member of the Board of Directors of the Malé Health Services Corporation.
Her expertise includes nursing education, management, clinical governance, curriculum development, academic leadership, and research and project supervision. She continues to teach nursing students at the School of Nursing and is committed to strengthening nursing leadership and improving healthcare in the Maldives.
