Azmath Jameel is a dedicated scholar and educator specializing in Shariah, Islamic Studies, and Islamic Jurisprudence (Fiqh). He currently serves as Head of the Department of Islamic Studies at the Faculty of Shari’ah and Law, Maldives National University (MNU) and has been a lecturer at MNU since 2015.
He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Islamic Shariah from the Islamic University, Medina, and completed his Master’s in Shariah at Villa College, Male’. He also holds an Advanced Certificate in Information Technology, equipping him with modern skills to enhance teaching and academic administration.
With over two decades of experience in education, Mr. Jameel began his career teaching Fiqh at Al Madhrasathul Arabiyyathul Islamiyya, where he progressed through roles including Supervisor, Graduate Leading Teacher, and Qualified Leading Teacher. He also served as a Technical Officer Trainee at the Maldives Airports Authority early in his career.
Mr. Jameel has experience in curriculum development, academic supervision, and educational leadership, and is deeply committed to advancing Islamic education and nurturing the next generation of scholars and professionals.
