Biography

Fathimath Haleem is a Senior Lecturer and the Head of the Department of Nursing Specialty at the School of Nursing, Maldives National University. She began her professional career as a registered nurse after graduating in 1995, gaining extensive clinical experience in critical care and the medical ward. Her early clinical work helped her develop strong professional competencies and a deep commitment to high-quality patient care.

In 2004, she joined Maldives National University and has since been actively involved in nursing education. Over the years, she has contributed significantly to teaching, curriculum development, and the preparation of competent nursing graduates. Her academic interests include critical care nursing, clinical education, and strengthening nursing curricula to respond to evolving healthcare needs.

Fathimath has also played an active role in academic governance within the university. She has served as a Member of the Maldives National University Academic Senate (2024–2026), the University Curriculum Committee (2022–2024), and the Quality Management Committee of the School of Nursing (2022–2023), contributing to enhancing academic quality and institutional standards.
