Dr. Aishath Niyaf is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Public Health at the Faculty of Health Sciences, The Maldives National University. As a proud Maldivian, along with being a passionate and dedicated professional in the field of Public Health and Nutrition, her journey has taken her across numerous roles to her current position at the Maldives National University.
Her academic journey expanded internationally with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Food Science) from Charles Sturt University, Australia. She later pursued a Master of Public Health with a focus on Nutrition at The University of Queensland, Brisbane. Her academic journey reached its pinnacle with a Ph.D. in Public Health, at the Management and Science University in Malaysia.
Shining the light on her professional experience, since 2012, she has been contributing to the education sector in the Department of Public Health at Maldives National University. Her responsibilities include course coordination and teaching for the Masters of Public Health, Diploma and Bachelors of Primary Health Care. She actively engages in research and supervision, course evaluation, and represents the university at various committees at the faculty and national levels.
She has previously served as the Program Manager at the Centre for Community Health and Disease Control, Laboratory Technologist at the Maldives Food and Drug Authority and Assistant Projects Officer at the Ministry of Fisheries and Agriculture.
