Abdul Rahman Mubaarique is a dedicated academic and administrative leader, currently serving as the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration and Finance) at the Maldives National University (MNU). In this role, he oversees the university’s financial planning, resource allocation, and administrative operations, ensuring its sustainability and growth. He also represents the Academic Senate in the University Council, contributing to high-level governance and strategic decision-making. Before assuming this position, he was the Dean of MNU Business School for over six years, where he played a key role in its development.
With over 12 years of experience in academia, he has also served as Head of the Marketing Department and as an elected member of MNU’s Academic Senate and University Council. Educated in the United Kingdom, he holds a bachelor’s degree from De Montfort University and a postgraduate degree from the University of Wales. Specialising in management and marketing, he teaches a wide range of business modules, mentors students, and supervises research projects. His research interests include marketing strategies, e-commerce, customer relationship management, workplace efficiency, and quality management, reflecting his commitment to addressing contemporary business challenges.
Beyond academia, he previously served as the President of AMDISA (Association of Management Development Institutions in South Asia), a SAARC-recognised network of over 267 universities and management institutions across South Asia. Today, he continues to contribute to AMDISA as a member of its Executive Board, supporting initiatives to enhance management education in the region.
Known for his passion for innovation, he regularly conducts training sessions, seminars, and workshops for university faculty and business professionals. These programs focus on leveraging basic and smart technologies to improve productivity and streamline operations. He also provides business management consulting, offering strategic advice to organisations on optimising their operations and achieving sustainable growth.
