Dr. Asiya Ibrahim is an Assistant Professor and senior academic at the Maldives National University (MNU), with extensive experience in nursing education, academic leadership, and health policy. She is registered nurse and midwife since 1997. She has over 27 years of experience in nursing education. She served as the first Dean of the School of Nursing for two terms and has contributed significantly to the development and quality enhancement of nursing and postgraduate education in the Maldives.
Her areas of expertise include qualitative and mixed methods research, policy analysis, nursing education, higher education, leadership, and quality improvement in nursing education and practice. Dr. Asiya has published in international peer-reviewed journals indexed in Scopus and PubMed, with research interests focusing on nursing workforce development, health policy, career pathways, and professional education. She is actively involved in research supervision, curriculum development, and national health and ethics committees, while also serving as a reviewer for international nursing and health journals.
