Aminath Suneeza

Biography

Aminath Suneeza is a dedicated nurse educator and academic affiliated with the Hithadhoo Campus of The Maldives National University in Addu City. She holds professional qualification in nursing and has completed specialized training in midwifery, equipping her expertise in maternal, newborn and reproductive health care. She has over 13 years of clinical nursing experience, having worked in diverse healthcare settings before transitioning into academia.

Prior to joining nursing education, she served as a Clinical Nurse, where she gained extensive experience in patient care, clinical decision-making, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the delivery of evidence-based healthcare services. Her clinical background has provided a strong foundation for her role as an educator, enabling her to effectively bridge theory and practice in the preparation of future healthcare professionals.

As an educator, she is dedicated to preparing competent and compassionate healthcare professionals through innovative teaching, mentorship, evidence-based practice, and research. Her interests include nursing and midwifery education, student development, critical thinking, clinical competence, lifelong learning, and healthcare research aimed at improving educational and clinical outcomes. 

In addition to her academic responsibilities, she contributes to professional publications and community-based educational activities, advocating for lifelong learning and continuous professional development among healthcare practitioners. Through her dedication to teaching, mentorship, and healthcare excellence, Aminath Suneeza continues to make meaningful contributions to nursing and midwifery education and the broader healthcare community.
