Aminath Shafa holds a Master of Nursing and a Master of Education and currently serves as a Lecturer in the Department of Nursing Specialities. Prior to joining The Maldives National University (MNU) in 2018, she worked as an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurse at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), where she gained extensive experience in the management of critically ill patients.
Her primary areas of expertise are critical care and emergency nursing, with a strong focus on clinical education, simulation-based learning, and evidence-based practice. She is a certified American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Provider.
Her research interests include critical care nursing, emergency nursing, end-of-life care, bereavement support, and qualitative health research, reflecting her commitment to advancing nursing education, improving patient care, and contributing to evidence-based healthcare practice.
