Uza. Aminath Haifa is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Sharia and Law, Maldives National University, where she has been serving since 2017.
Her academic expertise lies primarily in Law of Tort, Law of Contract, and Equity and Trusts. Throughout her academic career, she has taught a range of undergraduate law courses and has actively contributed to academic development through curriculum enhancement, quality assurance, and institutional governance.
She has served on numerous academic committees, including the Committee of Courses, Academic Review Committee, Appeals Committee, and Faculty Quality Assurance Committee, among others. She was promoted from Lecturer to Senior Lecturer in 2023 in recognition of her academic contributions and service.
Uza. Aminath Haifa has delivered lectures on Ilmy Fovahi and has actively participated in national and international academic conferences such as ICSRI and Theveli, where she has presented research papers on various legal issues. Her current research interests include tort law, medical negligence, personal injury compensation, and legal reform in the Maldives.
Professional Experience:
Uza.Aminath Haifa began her professional career as a Legal Officer at the Civil Service Commission of the Maldives. She later served as a Part-time Lecturer at MAPS College and the Islamic University of Maldives before joining the Maldives National University as a full-time Lecturer in 2017.
In addition to her academic responsibilities, she has contributed to the legal profession through public service and private practice. She has served as a member of the Ethics Committee and Committee of Experts of the Bar Council of the Maldives, where she was involved in upholding professional standards and ethical conduct within the legal profession.
Alongside her academic career, Uza. Aminath Haifa maintains an active private legal practice, enabling her to integrate practical legal experience into her teaching and research. Her areas of professional expertise include Law of Tort, Law of Contract, and Equity and Trusts, with particular interest in civil liability, negligence, and personal injury law
